CONTENT OF THE LESSON
PASSAGES ILLUSTRATING ‘WHEN’ ADVERBIAL STRUCTURES IN LONGER SENTENCES
- When is used in questions.
For example, when can I go home.
- When can be used to mean ”at which time” or ”on which occasion”.
Example, we are cutting grass on the field when the rain started.
- When is also used after an expression of time to mean ”at which” or ”on which”.
Example, Saturday is the only day when I can wash my clothes.

PRESENTATION
To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:
1. To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson. Based on this, he/she asks the pupils some questions;
2. Gives sample reading.
Pupil’s Activities – Read the given passage.
3. Asks pupils questions that will involve the use of ‘when’ adverbial.
Pupil’s Activities – Give answer to questions on the passage. Construct sentences with the use of ‘when’ adverbial.
