PRIMARY 2

THEME –  ARTS AND CRAFTS 

 PREVIOUS LESSON – MELODIC PATTERS OF TRADITIONAL SONG

TOPIC – CREATION OF STORY USING IDENTIFIED CHARACTERS 

 

PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES

By the end of the lesson, the pupils should have attained the following objectives (cognitive, affective and psychomotor) and should be able to play a role using identified character in a storyline.

INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS

The teacher will teach the lesson with the aid of illustrations in storybooks, characters in story books, cardboard paper etc.

 

METHOD OF TEACHING – Choose a suitable and appropriate methods for the lessons.

Note – Irrespective of choosing methods of teaching, always introduce an activities that will arouse pupil’s interest or lead them to the lessons.

TEACHER’S/PUPIL’S ACTIVITIES 2 – GUIDE THE PUPILS HIGHLIGHTS THE MAJOR CHARACTERS 

 

The characters are the people in the story.

 

PUPIL’S ACTIVITIES 3 – DEMONSTRATE THE CHARACTERS IDENTIFIED 

 

PRESENTATION

  • To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:
  1. To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson. Based on this, he/she asks the pupils some questions;
  2. Introduces a popular story from the locality.
  3. Highlight the major characters.
  4. Pupil’s Activities – Listens attentively and note down important points of the story.

 

CONCLUSION

  • To conclude the lesson for the week, the teacher revises the entire lesson and links it to the following week’s lesson.

 

LESSON EVALUATION 

Pupils to identify two major characters in the story.
