TOPIC – COPY AND PASTE, CUT AND PASTE, SAVE AND PRINT DOCUMENTS 

 

PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES

By the end of the lesson, the pupils should have attained the following objectives (cognitive, affective and psychomotor) and should be able to –

1. copy and paste.

2. cut and paste.

3. save and print documents.

 

 

ENTRY BEHAVIOUR

 

INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS

The teacher will teach the lesson with the aid of computer with a word processor installed.

 

METHOD OF TEACHING – Choose a suitable and appropriate methods for the lessons.

Note – Irrespective of choosing methods of teaching, always introduce an activities that will arouse pupil’s interest or lead them to the lessons.

CONTENT OF THE LESSON  

COPY, CUT AND PASTE 

 

COPY

 

Highlight the text you want to copy and Right Click, the selected text and select Copy.

 

OR

 

Highlight the text and use the shortcut key Ctrl + C

 

Note – A text could a word, one line, a paragraph, or all of the text in the document. 

 

CUT

 

Highlight the text you want to cut and Right Click, the selected text and select cut.

 

OR

 

Highlight the text and use the shortcut key Ctrl + X

 

PASTE

 

To paste the text, move the cursor to where you want to paste, Right Click where you want to the text to appear and select Paste.

 

 OR

 

Press the shortcut key Ctrl + V

SAVE FILES 

 

To save a file using a shortcut, press either Ctrl + S

 

Or

 

Clicking File either at the top of the program window or the top of the screen should give you a menu that allows you to Save the document.

PRINT DOCUMENTS 

 

To print a file using a shortcut (the fastest way of printing a file), press either Ctrl + P

 

Or

 

Open the document or file you want to print.

On the top portion, select the file menu in the Upper Left corner of the screen.

Select Print from the drop down menu.

 

 

PRESENTATION

  • To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:

1. To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson. Based on this, he/she asks the pupils some questions;

2. Guides and leads pupils to copy, cut and paste text(s).

Pupil’s Activities – Follow the teacher’s guidelines.

3. Guides and leads pupil’s to save and print documents (files).

CONCLUSION

  • To conclude the lesson for the week, the teacher revises the entire lesson and links it to the following week’s lesson.
