PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES 

By the end of the lesson, the pupils should have attained the following objectives (cognitive, affective and psychomotor) and should be able to –

1. narrate the story of answered prayer of Hannah for a son.

2. narrate the story of how lazarus was raised from the dead.

INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS

The teacher will teach the lesson with the aid of:

1. Bible Reading –

2. Chart showing prayer group.

 

 

METHOD OF TEACHING – Choose a suitable and appropriate methods for the lessons.

Note – Irrespective of choosing methods of teaching, always introduce an activities that will arouse pupil’s interest or lead them to the lessons.

CONTENT OF THE LESSON  

INTRODUCTORY ACTIVITIES 

Teacher’s/Pupil’s Prayer – The Lord’s Prayer

 

EVIDENCE OF POWER OF PRAYER 

1. Hannah prayer for a son – I Sam 1:9 – 20.

2. Lazarus raised from the dead – John 11:41 – 44,

 

Teacher’s Activities – Some of the pupils know some of these stories in the Bible, allow them to narrate any of the stories as you discuss the power of prayer.

 

PRESENTATION

To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:

1. To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson. Based on this, he/she asks the pupils some questions;

2. Leads discussion on power of prayer and evidence as stated in the Bible.

Pupil’s Activities – Participate in the class discussion.

 

CONCLUSION

  • To conclude the lesson for the week, the teacher revises the entire lesson and links it to the following week’s lesson.
