By the end of the lesson, the pupils should have attained the following objectives (cognitive, affective and psychomotor) and should be able to –

observe and identify features of common plants in their school compound.

CONTENT OF THE LESSON  

LESSON 1 – INTRODUCTORY ACTIVITIES 

Teacher’s Activities – Get some common plants for display and initiate class discussions (in term of size, shape colour and texture) which would enable pupils to identify and state features of the plants.

Pupil’s response – Participate in the class discussion.

Teacher’s remark – Give a great cheer for active participation and list the features of plants on the board.

PRESENTATION

To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:

1. To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson. Based on this, he/she asks the pupils some questions;

2. Initiate class discussions which would enable pupils to identify features of the plants.

3. Summarizes the lesson on the board.

Pupil’s Activities – Copy as the teacher writes.

 

CONCLUSION

To conclude the lesson for the week, the teacher revises the entire lesson and links it to the following week’s lesson.
