PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES 

By the end of the lesson, the pupils should have attained the following objectives (cognitive, affective and psychomotor) and should be able to use the computer to type texts.

 

ENTRY BEHAVIOUR

The pupils can write their names.

 

INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS

The teacher will teach the lesson with the aid of:

1. Computer

2. Paper

 

 

METHOD OF TEACHING

Choose a suitable and appropriate methods for the lessons.

Note – Irrespective of choosing methods of teaching, always introduce an activities that will arouse pupil’s interest or lead them to the lessons.

WRITING INSTRUCTION 

Copy as I write or draw as I write. This instruction should be given when you need the pupils to write or draw.

 

CONTENT OF THE LESSON  

LESSON 1 – INTRODUCTORY ACTIVITIES 

Teacher’s Activities – Take the pupils to the computer room, group the pupils and give each group a sheet of paper to write their name on it.

Pupil’s Activities – Active participation.

Teacher’s remark – A great cheer for responding. Typing texts is one of the uses of computer. Today, each one of you will type some simple sentences –

 

TYPING OF SIMPLE SENTENCES 

Teacher’s/Pupil’s Activities – Guide the pupils to use the computer to type their names using simple sentences.

For example –

My is name Segun,

I am 6 years old.

 

LESSON 2 – TYPING OF TEXT 

Teacher’s/Pupil’s Activities – Repeat the activities in lesson 1 as lesson evaluation.

 

PRESENTATION

To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:

1. To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson. Based on this, he/she asks the pupils some questions;

2. Guides pupils to use the computer to type text.

Pupil’s Activities – Type text on the computer.

 

CONCLUSION

To conclude the lesson for the week, the teacher revises the entire lesson and links it to the following week’s lesson.
