PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES 

By the end of the lesson, the pupils should have attained the following objectives (cognitive, affective and psychomotor) and should be able to –

1. mention types of toilets and bathrooms.

2. explain the importance of taking good care of toilets and bathroom.

3. list tools used in cleaning toilet and bath/urinary.

4. clean toilets and bathrooms.

 

ENTRY BEHAVIOUR

The pupils can identify materials used for cleaning both the bathrooms and toilets.

 

INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS

The teacher will teach the lesson with the aid of:

1. Brushes (long and short)

2. Brooms(long and short)

3. Duster

4. Soap

5. sponge

6. Detergent

7. Dust pan

8. Disinfectant, etc.

 

 

METHOD OF TEACHING

Choose a suitable and appropriate methods for the lessons.

Note – Irrespective of choosing methods of teaching, always introduce an activities that will arouse pupil’s interest or lead them to the lessons.

CONTENT OF THE LESSON  

INTRODUCTORY ACTIVITIES 

Teacher’s Activities – Based on their previous assignment, display sample or chart should different materials and tools used for cleaning the bathrooms and toilets for the pupils to identify as given their assignment.

Pupil’s Activities – This is broom, brush, sponge, hypo/detergent, ect.

Teacher’s remark – Correct, the above are used for cleaning our bathrooms and toilets at home and in the school. Write all the materials as identified on the board.

 

MATERIALS FOR CLEANING TOILETS AND BATHROOMS

1. Brushes (long and short)

2. Brooms(long and short)

 

 

3. Duster

4. Soap

5. sponge

6. Detergent

7. Dust pan

8. Disinfectant, etc.

 

LESSON 2 – INTRODUCTORY ACTIVITIES

Teacher’s Activities – Display chart showing a man/woman cleaning the bathroom and toilet for the children to identify and describe the activities on the chart.

Pupil’s Activities – The man/woman is cleaning the bathroom and toilet.

Teacher’s remark – Good job you. There are techniques used in cleaning bathrooms and toilets. Today, we will learn these techniques and apply them in our school’s toilets.

 

TOILET CLEANING TECHNIQUES 

1. Flush the toilet after use.

 

 

2. Wash your hands after using the toilet.

3. Wash the toilet regularly.

4. Always close the door of the toilet.

 

BATHROOM CLEANING TECHNIQUES 

1. Clean the bathroom mirror.

2. Don’t allow water log after bath.

3. Put your toothbrush in its position.

4. Sweep your bathroom.

 

PRACTICAL CLEANING OF SCHOOL TOILETS

Lead and guide the pupils to properly clean the toilets in the school.

 

PRESENTATION

To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:

1. To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson. Based on this, he/she asks the pupils some questions;

2. Discuss the techniques used for cleaning the bathrooms and toilets.

Pupil’s Activities – Participate activities in the discussion.

3. Demonstrates how to clean toilets and bathrooms.

Pupil’s Activities – Participate in the cleaning process.

4. Finds out how many pupils clean toilets and bathrooms in their homes.

Pupil’s Activities – Clean toilet at home.

5. Summary the points on the board.

Pupil’s Activities – Copy as the teacher writes.

 

CONCLUSION

To conclude the lesson for the week, the teacher revises the entire lesson and links it to the following week’s lesson.
