LEARNING OUTCOME 

By the end of the lesson, pupils should be able to:

1. State the meaning of Technology as any invention, including tools, machines, materials, techniques, and sources of power, that makes people’s work and lives easier.

2. Identify different products of technology

3. Give reasons why different technologies are important to man.

RATIONALE

Technology means any invention, including tools, machines, materials, techniques, and sources of power that makes work and lives easier for the people. Computers and mobiles are not only technology. Technology is whenever people used knowledge to create a new thing to solve existing problems.

Technology makes it easy to matches and lighter instead of stones to produce fire.

LEARNING MATERIALS 

Posters showing products of technology like phone, television, spoon, knife, video player, etc.

 

PREVIOUS KNOWLEDGE

Technology affects how we live, work, play, and most importantly learn. The pupils used matches and lighter to produce fire instead of stones. Kerosene stove, electric cooker or gas cooker to cook food instead of fire wood. Play with different toys instead of stick, stone, snail shell, etc. Watch television, listen to radio, travel by road (cars or train), water (boat), etc.

Technology is not strange to them anymore. This lesson will expose the pupils to the uses and proper applications of technology to solve different kinds of problems.
