CONTENT OF THE LESSON  

LESSON 1 – INTRODUCTORY ACTIVITIES 

Teacher’s Activities – Provide some sample of common plants or charts showing common plants and guide the pupils discussion and group plants according to their uses.

Pupil’s responses – Participate actively in the discussion.

Teacher’s remark – Record the points of discussion on the board and celebrate active participation.

COMMON PLANTS ACCORDING TO THEIR USES

Plants can be used as –

1. Food

Plants used as food are maize, rice, beans, yam, cassava, etc.

 

2. Beautification

Plants used as beautification are flowers and carpet grass.

 

3. Building

 

 

Plants used for building houses are iroko trees, etc.

 

4. Furniture

Plants used for building houses are iroko trees, etc.

 

5. Shade

Plants used as shade are big, medium and small trees.

 

6. Medicines

Plants used as medicines are garlic, ginger, mango and pawpaw leaves, lemon and line orange, etc.

 

LESSON 2 – REVISION AND WEEK LESSON ASSESSMENT 

As stated in performance objectives or lesson evaluation. 

 

PRESENTATION

To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:

1. To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson. Based on this, he/she asks the pupils some questions;

2. Through class discussion, groups plants according to their uses.

3. Summarizes the lesson on the board.

CONCLUSION

To conclude the lesson for the week, the teacher revises the entire lesson and links it to the following week’s lesson.
