By the end of the lesson, most pupils should have attained the following objectives –

1. identify new words from the passage.

2. write the meaning of new word in passage.

3, make a sentence with these words.

4. write down the dictated words.

 

 

ENTRY BEHAVIOUR

The pupils can use dictionary for finding meaning of words.

 

 

INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS

The teacher will teach the lesson with the aid of course book and dictionary.

PRESENTATION

To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:

1. To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson. Based on this, he/she asks the pupils some questions;

2. Teacher organizes the pupils in groups or pair depending on the size of the class.

3. Teacher leads an independent and groups reading of a passage.

Pupil’s Activities – The pupils participates actively in the passage reading.

4. Teacher guides pupils as a group to note down all the new and difficult words.

5. Teacher asks pupils to spell each and guides them to pronounce the words correctly.

Pupil’s Activities – The pupils spell and correctly pronounce the new and difficulty words.

6. Teacher allows pupils in their respective group to find the meaning of the new words.

Pupil’s Activities – The pupils find the meaning of new and difficult words using dictionary.

7. Teacher dictates the new and difficult words.

Pupil’s Activities – The pupils writes the dictated words correctly.

8. Teacher summarizes the lesson on the board with appropriate evaluation.

Pupil’s Activities – The pupils participate actively in the summary of the lesson by responding correctly to most of the questions write as instructed.

 

 

CONCLUSION

To conclude the lesson for the week, the teacher revises the entire lesson and links it to the following week’s lesson.
