TOPIC – DISTRIBUTIVE DETERMINERS 

 

PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES 

By the end of the lesson, the pupils should have attained the following objectives (cognitive, affective and psychomotor) and should be able to –

1. use structures with these determiners.

2. use them in written sentences.

The teacher will teach the lesson with the aid of:

2. Substitution tables

3. Improvises various situations in which the words can be used so as to bring out their meaning. Use compounds of some and any.

Note – Irrespective of choosing methods of teaching, always introduce an activities that will arouse pupil’s interest or lead them to the lessons.

CONTENT OF THE LESSON  

DISTRIBUTIVE DETERMINERS 

The use of All, Some, Any, Each, Everyone, One, None, Somebody, Anybody, etc.

A dog is an animal.

Some animals are fierce.

I don’t like any dog.

 

Study the following –

1. Each of the class has a teacher.

2. I met two boys. One has a phone number.

3. Someone gave me this book.

4. You may invite anybody you want to my birthday party.

 

 

1. Some with plural nouns and some with uncountable nouns – some money, salt, some sense, etc. Credit me with some sense.

 

2. Use of any with a negative and with question.

 

3. Every is always an adjective and never a pronoun.

PRESENTATION

To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:

1. To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson. Based on this, he/she asks the pupils some questions;

2. Introduces the lesson orally and write the distributive determiners on the board.

Pupil’s Activities – Use each of the words in contextual situations or dramatic sense.

3. Gives pupils the following examples, Question – does anyone know the way. Answer – Yes, someone knows the way.

Pupil’s Activities – Use two or three of the the words in contrast to each other so as to bring out their meaning.

 

CONCLUSION

To conclude the lesson for the week, the teacher revises the entire lesson and links it to the following week’s lesson.

Pupils to:

2. use them in written sentences.
