CONTENT OF THE LESSON

INTRODUCTION

In our everyday life, we use many different objects such as pens, books, chairs, rulers, and knives.

Each object has a special use or purpose.

The function of an object means the purpose or what the object is used for.

We often use the phrase “is used for” to describe function.

Examples of Objects and Their Functions

  • A pen is used for writing.
  • A pencil is used for writing and drawing.
  • A ruler is used for measuring.
  • A book is used for reading.
  • A chair is used for sitting.
  • A table is used for placing things.
  • A knife is used for cutting.
  • A broom is used for sweeping.
  • An eraser is used for removing pencil marks.
  • A school bag is used for carrying books.

Importance of the Lesson

This lesson helps pupils to:

  • describe objects correctly.
  • improve speaking and writing skills.
  • understand the use of things around them.
