PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES
By the end of the lesson, the pupils should have attained the following objectives (cognitive, affective and psychomotor) and should be able to:
- Give 2 reasons for working.
- List 5 kinds of work.
INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS
The teacher will teach the lesson with the aid of chart of different kinds of Work.
METHOD OF TEACHING – Choose a suitable and appropriate methods for the lessons.
Note – Irrespective of choosing methods of teaching, always introduce an activities that will arouse pupil’s interest or lead them to the lessons.

CONTENT OF THE LESSON
REASONS FOR WORKING
- To earn a living.
- To care of their families.
- To support their children.
- To pay their bills.
KINDS OF WORK
- Trading
- Farming
- Weaving
- Cattle rearing
- Wood work
- Fishing
PRESENTATION
- To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:
- To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson. Based on this, he/she asks the pupils some questions;
- Guides pupils to state the occupation of their parents.
- Pupil’s Activities – Mention the occupation of their parents.
- Guides pupils to state reasons why their parents work.
- Pupil’s Activities – State reasons why daddy and mommy work.
CONCLUSION
- To conclude the lesson for the week, the teacher revises the entire lesson and links it to the following week’s lesson – kinds of work in our community II.
