By the end of the lesson, most of the pupils should be able to attained the following objectives,

1. Read story of visits to places of interest.

2. Make simple correct sentences and punctuations while writing.

3. Write about their visits to places of interest.

The pupils can describe their place of interest.

The teacher will teach the lesson with the aid of –

CONTENT OF THE LESSON 

INTRODUCTION

A place of interest is a location or destination that is very attractive, noteworthy or worth visiting now and always.

There are different types of location such historical sites, natural landmarks, cultural centers, and tourist attractions. It can also be ordinary places like ATMs, gas stations, schools or parks.

 

 

PLACES OF INTEREST 

Giving an account of visits to place of interest, paying particular attention to,

1. Local Markets

2. Supermarkets

3. Idanre Hills

4. Olumo rock, etc.

 

 

TEACHERS/PUPIL’S ACTIVITIES 

1. Sentence linking

2. Paragraph linking

3. Punctuation

4. Register of places of interest

5. Expression of personal feelings – joy, excitement, etc.

 

 

PRESENTATION

To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:

1. To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson. Based on this, he/she asks the pupils some questions;

2. Teacher organizes the pupils in groups or pair depending on the size of the class.

3. Teacher displays chart showing different place of interest or he/she organizes an excursion to any place of interest or attraction within the school’s environment or distant place, if the authorities permit it.

4. Teacher lets the pupils as a group to examine and discuss if one or more of these place have been visit.

5. Teacher uses the charts and the places visited by the pupils to introduce the lesson.

Pupil’s Activities – The pupils place attention to the lesson introduction in order to understand the concept of lesson.

6. Teacher allows the pupils to give the different account of visits to place of Interest.

Pupil’s Activities – The pupils mention different places of visits to place of Interest visited.

7. Teacher asks leading questions that elicit more detailed narration.

Pupil’s Activities – The pupils write account of their visits.

8. Teacher identifies and correct the individual and groups grammatical errors.

Pupil’s Activities – The pupils noted their error and correct them.

9. Teacher summarizes the lesson on the board with appropriate evaluation.

Pupil’s Activities – The pupils participate actively in the summary of the lesson by responding correctly to most of the questions write as instructed.

 

 

CONCLUSION

To conclude the lesson for the week, the teacher revises the entire lesson and links it to the following week’s lesson.
