The pupils can identity and differentiate between living and non living things.

 

INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS

The teacher will teach the lesson with the aid of Holy Bible, Pictures of family, CD player, etc.

CONTENT OF THE LESSON

LESSON 1 – INTRODUCTION

The Bible reveals God as the Creator of the universe who carefully create mankind in His very own image. He creates everything and sustains them.

 

WHO IS GOD? (JOHN 4:24)

God is a person who can hear, talk, feel, love, understand, etc.

 

ATTRIBUTE OF GOD

1. God is spirit.

2. God is invisible – no one can’t see God.

3. God is all powerful.

4. God is love.

5. God is kind and just.

6. God is holy.

7. God is truth.

In John 4:24, the Bible reveals that… God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth. 

 

LESSON 2 – GOD CREATES LIVING AND NON LIVING THINGS

God is the one who made all these things. He made the heavens and the earth. He made people too. God created the first man and the first woman.

 

LIVING THINGS

Living thing are things that are alive. Man, plants and animals are examples of living things. Anything that are alive can breathe in and breathe out. Everybody breathe IN, breathe OUT. They can walk, jump, eat, etc. Children, let us mention things that are alive – 

1. People – Man and woman, boy and girls, baby, children, young and old.

2. Plants – Tress and grass

3. Animals – Goat, sheep, chicken, bird, fish, crab, etc.

 

NON LIVING THINGS

Non living things are not alive. They cannot breathe in and cannot breathe out. Non living things cannot walk, jump, eat, etc. They cannot do anything. Children, let us mention things that are not alive – 

1. Stone

2. Wood

3. River

4. Sand

5. Fire, etc.

Genesis 1: 1-2, Bible tells that… In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.

 

PRESENTATION

To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:

1. To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson. Based on this, he/she asks the pupils some questions;

2. Teacher organizes the pupils in groups depending on the size of the class.

3. Teacher displays chart showing living and non living things.

4. Teacher asks the pupils to identify the living and non living things. Writes on the boards in tabular form as the pupils mention. 

5. Teacher asks the pupils again, who creates living and non living things? Expected responses – God. 

Pupil’s Activities – The pupils identity living and non livings and state who created them.

6. Teacher uses the chart and pupils relevant responses to introduce the lesson and leads a class discussion on, who is God. 

Pupil’s Activities – The pupils pay attention to the lesson introduction and participate actively in the class discussion on, who is God. 

7. Teacher guides the pupils to identify and differentiate between living and non living with appropriate examples.

Pupil’s Activities – The pupils identify and differentiate between living and non living giving appropriate examples.

8. Teacher leads the pupils to recognize and appreciate the essence of what God created by singing short praises.

Pupil’s Activities – The pupils sing praise and wordship songs in appreciate to what God has created.

9. Teacher summarizes the lesson on the board by using appropriate lesson evaluation.

Pupil’s Activities – The pupils participate actively in the summary of the lessons by responding correctly to most of the questions and write as instructed.

 

CONCLUSION

To conclude the lesson for the week, the teacher revises the entire lesson and links it to the following week’s lesson.
