CONTENT OF THE LESSON
LESSON 1 – INTRODUCTION
The Bible reveals God as the Creator of the universe who carefully create mankind in His very own image. He creates everything and sustains them.
THINGS CREATED BY GOD
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. God creates different things on different days –
The first day – Light was created.
The second day – The sky was created.
The third day – Dryland, seas, plants and trees were created.
The fourth day – The Sun, Moon and stars were created.
The fifth day – creatures that live in the sea and creatures that fly were created.
The sixth day – animals that live on the land and finally humans, made in the image of God were created by day seven – God finished his work of creation and rested, making the seventh day a special holy day.
THINGS CREATED BY MAN
God creates living and non living things. Out of what God’s creatures, man creates a lot of things but cannot create life. Some of the things man created are as follows –
1. Chair and table
2. Cars and toy cars
3. Shoes
4. Clothes
5. Electronics such as TV, radio, etc.
LESSON 2 – WHY GOD CREATED MAN
In Genesis 1:26, Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness and have dominion over every other things He Created.
1. To reflect the image of God.
2. To have dominion – that’s to love and care for other things that God Created.
WHY GOD CREATED THINGS
The first reason is that God creates things for His glory.
The second reason is that the things God creates show God’s glory and attributes.
THE NEEDS TO LOVE AND CARE FOR GOD’S CREATURES
The needs to love and care for Gods creatures are,
1. To praise and glorify God.
2. To protect God’s creatures.
3. To provide for them.
4. To appreciate the wonder of God’s creatures.
PRESENTATION
To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:
1. To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson. Based on this, he/she asks the pupils some questions;
2. Teacher organizes the pupils in groups depending on the size of the class.
3. Teacher displays chart showing all God’s creatures.
4. Teacher lets the pupils identify and God’s creatures.
5. Teacher uses the chart and pupils relevant responses to introduce the lesson and leads a class discussion on things created by God.
Pupil’s Activities – The pupils pay attention to the lesson introduction and participate actively in the class discussion on, things created by God.
6. Teacher asks the pupils, why did God creates man and things?
7. Teacher uses the pupils responses in activity 6 to explain the reasons why God created man and things.
Pupil’s Activities – The pupils listens to the teacher’s explanation and appreciate the importance of God’s creatures.
8. Teacher summarizes the lesson on the board by using appropriate lesson evaluation.
Pupil’s Activities – The pupils participate actively in the summary of the lessons by responding correctly to most of the questions and write as instructed.
CONCLUSION
To conclude the lesson for the week, the teacher revises the entire lesson and links it to the following week’s lesson.
