1. combine letters together to form words.

2. construct new words and sentences.

MAKING NEW WORDS FROM B A S K E T B A L L 

Making 3 letter words – all, ask, bat, set, let, bet, sat

Making 4 letter words – ball, task, last, lake, take, tall, base, tell belt

Making 5 letter words – balls, takes, lakes, tells, kelts, skell, belts blest, blets

Making 6 letter words – basket, ablates, ballets, salable

 

MAKING NEW WORDS FROM T E A C H E R 

Making 3 letter words – are, her, tea, car, cat, hat

Making 4 letter words – care cart, each acre, cate, arch , heat

Making 5 letter words – teach, cheat, chart

 

 

PRESENTATION

To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:

1. To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson. Based on this, he/she asks the pupils some questions;

2. Teacher organizes the pupils in groups or pair depending on the size of the class.

3. Teacher displays a flashcard for each lettered A – Z.

4. Teacher asks pupils as groups to pick five or more words and formed words with them.

5. Teacher lets each group represent their on a chart for presentation.

Pupil’s Activities – The groups work together to construct and rearrange new words given to them in a puzzle.

6. Teacher uses the pupil’s active participation to introduce the lesson.

Pupil’s Activities – The pupils pay attention to lesson introduction in order to understand the concept of the lesson.

7. Teacher forms new words from the flashcards, makes sentences and uses them for spelling and dictation.

Pupil’s Activities – Each pupil think quickly on the spelling of a new word.

8. Teacher summarizes the lesson on the board with appropriate evaluation.

Pupil’s Activities – The pupils participate actively in the summary of the lesson by responding correctly to most of the questions write as instructed.

 

 

CONCLUSION

To conclude the lesson for the week, the teacher revises the entire lesson and links it to the following week’s lesson.
