By the end of the lesson, most of the pupils should have attained the following objectives –

1. Identify and name the sense organs.

2. match each sense to its organ.

3. draw the sense of organs.

 

 

ENTRY BEHAVIOUR

The pupils can identify the eyes, nose, skin, etc.

 

 

INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS

The teacher will teach the lesson with the aid of chart showing the five senses.

 

 

METHOD OF TEACHING

Choose a suitable and appropriate methods for the lessons.

Note – Irrespective of choosing methods of teaching, always introduce an activities that will arouse pupil’s interest or lead them to the lessons.

CONTENT OF THE LESSON  

LESSON 1 – INTRODUCTION 

The sense organs are the parts of body that enable us to see, smell, hear, taste, and touch or feel.

 

 

THE SENSE OF ORGANS 

The sense of organs are as follows:

 

1. The Eyes

2. The Nose

3. The Ears

4. The Tongue

5. The Hands

 

 

ASSIGNMENT 

1. Find out the functions of sense organ.

2. Draw any two of the sense organs.

 

 

LESSON 2- FUNCTIONS OF SENSE ORGANS 

The functions of sense organs are as follows:

 

1. Sense of sight (for seeing)

2. Sense of  smell (for smelling)

3. Sense of sound (for hearing)

4. Sense of taste (for tasting)

5. Sense of touch (for touching or feeling)

 

 

MATCH THE SENSE TO ITS ORGAN

1. Sense of sight ______________ hearing

2. Sense of  smell ______________ feeling

3. Sense of sound ______________ seeing

4. Sense of taste ______________ feeling

5. Sense of touch ______________ smelling

 

LESSON 3 – REVISION AND WEEKLY ASSESSMENT (TEST) 

 

 

PRESENTATION

To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:

1. To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson. Based on this, he/she asks the pupils some questions:

 

2. Displays the chart showing five (5) sense Organs.

3. Lets pupils identify each sense organ.

Pupil’s Activities – Identify each of the sense organs.

4. Asks them to touch nose, skin, ears, raise their hands and show their tongue.

Pupil’s Activities – Identify and name the sense organ.

5. Leads pupils to discuss and state the uses of each sense organ.

Pupil’s Activities – Participate actively in the class discussion.

6. Summarizes the lessons on the board.

Pupil’s Activities – Participate Actively in the lesson summary and write as instructed.

 

 

CONCLUSION

To conclude the lesson for the week, the teacher revises the entire lesson and links it to the following week’s lesson.
