PREVIOUS LESSON –
TOPIC – Exposition Basic Concept of Drug Abuse
By the end of the lesson, the pupils should have attained the following objectives (cognitive, affective and psychomotor) and should be able to:
1. Explain the meaning of drug abuse.
2. Give examples of cases of drug abuse.
3. Explain in writing concept of drug abuse.
The teacher will teach the lesson with the aid of:
1. Drug box or packets
2. Drug labels or leaflets
METHOD OF TEACHING – Choose a suitable and appropriate methods for the lessons.
Note – Irrespective of choosing methods of teaching, always introduce an activities that will arouse pupil’s interest or lead them to the lessons.

CONTENT OF THE LESSON
Abuse of Drug is non – medical use of drugs, that’s
1. Taking drugs without doctor’s prescription.
2. Going to patent medicine store to buy drugs.
3. Taking too of drugs repeatedly, e.g. analgesic.

To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:
1. To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson. Based on this, he/she asks the pupils some questions;
2. Discusses the meaning of drug abuse.
Pupil’s Activities – Listen attentively.
3. Explains the use of labels on drugs as a meaning of showing correct passages.
Pupil’s Activities – Interacts with instructions and labels on drugs showing correct passages.
4. Gives guidelines, to let pupils write an essay on the concept of drug abuse.
Pupil’s Activities – Using the teacher’s guidelines write an essay on the concept of drugs abuse.
To conclude the lesson for the week, the teacher revises the entire lesson and links it to the following week’s lesson.
1. Give examples of drug abuse, use correct stress and intonation.
2. Explain the concept of drug abuse in correct English grammar writing.
