By the end of the lesson, most pupils should have attained the following objectives –
1. explain the meaning of writing process.
2. define the elements of writing process.
3. apply the process to write outline on a given letter writing.

CONTENT OF THE LESSON
MEANING OF WRITING PROCESS
Writing process is the general outline or steps used to generate a finished piece of writing.
ELEMENTS OF WRITING PROCESS
The elements of writing process is divided into five steps: pre-writing, drafting, revising, editing, and publication.
1. Pre-writing
2. Drafting
3. Revising
4. Editing
5. Publication
PRE-WRITING (THINK AND DECIDE)
Pre-writing is the first step of writing process and it is known as planning stage.
At this stage, you are thinking and deciding what to write and how to write.
DRAFTING (WRITING)
Drafting is the second stage and also as writing stage.
It is the process of putting your ideas into complete thoughts, such as sentences and paragraphs.
REVISING (MAKE IT BETTER)
Revising is the third stage of writing process.
At this stage, you take time to look over again in order to correct and improve writing.
EDITING (MAKE IT CORRECT)
Editing is the fourth stage of writing process.
It is the process of making all necessary corrections. That’s, checking the spelling, capitalization, punctuation marks, replace unclear words, etc.
PUBLICATION
The final stage of the whole writing process.
At the stage, the writing is available for the general public or the main recipient.
APPLICATION OF WRITING PROCESS
Teacher and learners activities. Guide the class to apply the writing process in letter writing.
PRESENTATION
To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps – he/she,
1. Revises the previous lesson based on the pupil’s related knowledge or experience.
Pupil’s Activities – Participate actively in lesson review.
2. Writes a short letter on the board or display cardboard showing a short letter.
3. Reads and let the learners read in groups and individually.
Pupil’s Activities – Take part in the groups and individuals reading.
4. Analysis the content of letter writing.
Pupil’s Activities – Analyze the content of the letter.
5. Uses the analysis to introduce and define writing process.
Pupil’s Activities – Pay attention to lesson introduction and participate in the class discussion.
6. Discuss the elements of writing process and guide the learners to apply and write a better letter.
Pupil’s Activities – Develop the ability to write a better letter.
CONCLUSION
To conclude the lesson for the week, the teacher revises the entire lesson and links it to the following week’s lesson.
