By the end of the lesson, the pupils should have attained the following objectives –

1. explain what is good behaviour.

2. give good examples of good behaviour.

3. demonstrate the good examples of good behaviour.

 

ENTRY BEHAVIOUR

The pupils know how to maintain hygiene environments.

 

INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS

The teacher will teach the lesson with the aid of chart showing different public place such as schools, hospital, library, beach, etc.

 

METHOD OF TEACHING

Choose a suitable and appropriate methods for the lessons.

Note – Irrespective of choosing methods of teaching, always introduce an activities that will arouse pupil’s interest or lead them to the lessons.

CONTENT OF THE LESSON

INTRODUCTION (WHAT IS GOOD BEHAVIOURS?) 

A good behaviour is a key to peace of mind. In order to live happily, good behaviours are very necessary to have in life.

Good behaviour means being polite and respectful. That’s, treating others with dignity and consideration.

 

WHAT ARE THE GOOD BEHAVIOURS IN PUBLIC PLACES? 

A public place is a place that is open and accessible to everyone to play, learn, work or get help. Here are some of the good behavior to show in public places –

1. Greetings are always nice to give and receive. Say hello when meeting someone for the first time.

2. Say thank you to show appreciation for the help or support you received.

3. Say excuse me or I’m sorry if you bump into someone.

4. Don’t jump in front of others while standing in line. Wait for your turn.

5. Keep calm and read quietly in the library.

6. Stop making noise in the classroom and other places.

7. When out for a day of shopping, put things back the way they were found.

8. Don’t destroy things used in public places.

9. Don’t litter the environment.

10. Don’t scribble/write on the wall.

 

PRESENTATION

To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:

1. To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson based on what he/she taught or what the pupils have learned.

2. Teacher displays chart showing different behaviours in public places.

3. Teacher allows the children to identify and describe the good and bad behaviours on the chart.

Children’s Activities – The children identify and describe the good and bad behaviours on the chart.

4. Teacher uses the chart and the children relevant responses to introduce the lesson and explain the meaning and examples of good behaviours in the public places.

Children’s Activities – The children pay attention to the lesson introduction, listen and understand the meaning of good behaviour in public places.

5. Teacher guides the children to demonstrate the examples of good behaviour in places like the park, school, restaurants, playground, etc.

Children’s Activities – The children understand and appreciate the importance of good behaviours in public places.

6. Teacher summarizes the lesson, asks questions and gives the children homework.

Children’s Activities – The children participate actively in the summary by responding correctly to the questions and do their homework at home.

 

CONCLUSION

To conclude the lesson for the week, the teacher revises the entire lesson and links it to the following week’s lesson.
