CONTENT OF THE LESSON
LESSON 1 – SAFETY RULES OF SWIMMING
Safety rules for swimming are sets of instruction of instructions that ensure the safety of the swimmers from injuries, drowning or death.
The following safety rules must be comply with –
1. Shower
2. Warm up
3. Don’t swim immediately after meal.
4. Always obey pool rules.
5. Never swim alone.
6. Wear swimming kits.
7. Walk slowly into the pool. Don’t run.
8. Don’t push or jump on others.
9. If you are a learner, always use floating devices.
10. Always use life jackets, if you are at the beach.
LESSON 2 – BENEFITS OF SWIMMING
1. It improves your mental health.
2. It increases your physical fitness.
3. It helps you to relax and sleep well.
4. It boosts heart health.
5. It is a whole body exercise.
6. It reduces body fat.
7. It improves mental health.
8. It makes your body more flexible.
9. It softens the skin.
REVISION AND WEEKLY ASSESSMENT
As stated in performance objectives or lesson evaluation.
PRESENTATION
To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:
1. To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson. Based on this, he/she asks the pupils some questions;
2. Teacher displays chart showing different swimming devices such as floating objects or life jacket.
3. Teacher allows the pupils to identify and discuss.
4. Teacher uses the chart and the pupils relevant responses to introduce the lesson and leads a class room discussion on safety rules in swimming.
5. Teacher explains the health benefits of swimming.
6. Teacher summarizes the rules on the board using appropriate lesson evaluation.
Pupil’s Activities – The pupils participate actively in the summary of the lesson by responding to most of the questions correctly and write as instructed.
CONCLUSION
To conclude the lesson for the week, the teacher revises the entire lesson and links it to the following week’s lesson.
