CONTENT OF THE LESSON

INTRODUCTION

Farmers and fishermen carry out many activities that require time and hard work. Today, machines and modern equipment can help them do these activities more easily and quickly.

For example, a tractor can help a farmer prepare a large piece of land, while a motorized boat can help a fisherman move easily on water.

In this lesson, pupils will learn about the meaning of mechanized agriculture, agricultural mechanization, problems of mechanized agriculture, and modern technology used in farming and fishing.

MEANING OF MECHANIZED AGRICULTURE

Mechanized agriculture is the use of machines and modern equipment to carry out farming activities instead of doing everything by hand.

Machines can help farmers to prepare the land, plant crops, apply fertilizers, harvest crops, and process farm produce.

AGRICULTURAL MECHANIZATION

Agricultural mechanization is the use of machines, tools, and equipment to make agricultural activities easier, faster, and more productive.
