PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES 

By the end of the lesson, most pupils should have attained the following objectives –

1. explain the meaning of moderation and over indulgence.

2. enumerate the dangers associated with over indulgence.

The pupils can state some of ungodly Christian life.

 

 

INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS

The teacher will teach the lesson with the aid of Pictures or Illustrations depicting indecent dressing, smokers, drunks, etc.

CONTENT OF THE LESSON  

INTRODUCTION

Moderation is way of doing something within reasonable limits:

For example, eating foods in moderation is a key to maintaining a healthy diet. Our actions, feelings and habits within reasonable limits.

 

 

MEANING OF DANGERS OF OVER – INDULGENCE

This is the opposite of moderation. Over – indulgence is doing something in an abnormal way.

For example, over eating is a bad behaviour just as well as drinking too much.

 

 

CONSEQUENCES OF OVER INDULGENCE

Over indulgence is dangerous and can lead to –

1. Sickness

2. Loneliness

3. Untimely death

4. Rape

5. Delinquency

1. To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson. Based on this, he/she asks the pupils some questions;

2. Explains what moderation means.

Pupil’s Activities – Explain what moderation means.

3. Asks the pupils if they had seen any one drink before?

Pupil’s Activities – Answer the teacher’s question.

4. Discuss the need to exercise moderation in everything we do.

5. Discusses the dangers of over indulgence.

Pupil’s Activities – Participate in the discussion.
