1. make appropriate selections from different structural slots.
2. use relative clauses in sentence constructions.

CONTENT OF THE LESSON
CONSTRUCTION WITH RELATIVE CAUSES USING WHEN, WHO, WHAT AND WHERE
Relative clauses are clauses starting with the relative pronouns who, that, which, where, when. They are most often used to to join sentences.
EXAMPLES
1 I know a man who is a policeman.
2. It is good to work hard when one is still young.
3. I know a state where there is peace.
4. The book does not contain what I wanted to read.
5. Where’s the pencil which I gave you yesterday?
PUPIL’S EXERCISES – Match the two words to seven sentences.
1. Do you know the girl 1. you lost?
2. Where’s the pencil 2. he’s talking to?
3. Did you find the money 3. which I gave you yesterday?
4. I know a man 4. where there is peace.
5. It is good to work hard 5. what I wanted to read.

PRESENTATION
To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:
1. To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson. Based on this, he/she asks the pupils some questions;
2. Gives examples of the structural patterns using the table provided on the board.
Pupil’s Activities – Practice with examples of structural patterns.
3. Makes pupils repeat after you.
Pupil’s Activities – Repeat after the teacher.
4. Guides pupils to make their own sentences from the table.
Pupil’s Activities – Make appropriate sentences from the substitution table provided in their books or provided by the teacher.
CONCLUSION
- To conclude the lesson for the week, the teacher revises the entire lesson and links it to the following week’s lesson.
