THEME –  

 PREVIOUS LESSON – DIFFERENT WAYS OF GREETINGS 

TOPIC – HOW TO RESPECT GOD AND WHY

 

PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES

By the end of the lesson, the pupils should have attained the following objectives (cognitive, affective and psychomotor) and should be able to –

  1. identify who god is.
  2. say why we should respect God.

 

 

ENTRY BEHAVIOUR

 

INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS

The teacher will teach the lesson with the aid of:

  1. Posters of people praising God.
  2. Picture of people praying to God.

 

METHOD OF TEACHING – Choose a suitable and appropriate methods for the lessons.

Note – Irrespective of choosing methods of teaching, always introduce an activities that will arouse pupil’s interest or lead them to the lessons.

CONTENT OF THE LESSON  

ACTIVITIES 1 – IDENTIFY THE ACTIVITIES OF PEOPLE ON THE CHART 

 

PEOPLE SINGING 

 

PEOPLE PRAYING 

 

ACTIVITIES 2 – WHO THEY SINGING AND PRAYING TO? GOD AND IDENTIFY WHO GOD IS.

  1. He is a supreme being.
  2. He is a Spirit.

 

Tell them that singing and praying to God means respecting God. 

 

ACTIVITIES 3 – STATE WHY MUST WE RESPECT GOD 

Because

  1. He created the world.
  2. He created us.
  3. He created everything in this world.

 

ACTIVITIES 4 – IDENTIFICATION OF THINGS CREATED BY GOD 

  1. Air
  2. Water
  3. Land
  4. Plants and animals, etc.

 

ACTIVITIES 5 – HOW TO RESPECT GOD 

  1. Thanksgiving
  2. Singing praises
  3. Praying to God.

 

 

PRESENTATION

  • To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:
  1. To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson. Based on this, he/she asks the pupils some questions;
  2. Leads pupils to identify who God is.
  3. Pupil’s Activities – Identify who God is.
  4. Guides them to mention why they should respect God.
  5. Pupil’s Activities – Mention why they should respect God.
  6. Directs pupils to worship/honour God with praises.
  7. Pupil’s Activities – Participate in singing praise to God.

 

CONCLUSION

  • To conclude the lesson for the week, the teacher revises the entire lesson and links it to the following week’s lesson.
