THEME – GRAMMAR 

TOPIC – WRITING DIALOGUES 

 

PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES 

By the end of the lesson, the pupils should have attained the following objectives (cognitive, affective and psychomotor) and should be able to –

1. speak in public on either of the specific topics.

2. use the appropriate register in making a speech.

3. get ideas on the topic discussed.

4. arouse the interest of listeners.

 

ENTRY BEHAVIOUR

 

INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS

The teacher will teach the lesson with the aid of Charts showing different kinds of experiences.

 

 

METHOD OF TEACHING – Choose a suitable and appropriate methods for the lessons.

Note – Irrespective of choosing methods of teaching, always introduce an activities that will arouse pupil’s interest or lead them to the lessons.

CONTENT OF THE LESSON  

WRITING DIALOGUES//DISCUSSION

Dialogues or discussion on either of these topics –

1. Holiday experiences

2. My life

3. My future

4. What I would like to do after I leave primary school.

 

 

PRESENTATION

To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:

1. To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson. Based on this, he/she asks the pupils some questions;

2. Discuss with the class so as to establish the shape and vocabulary needed for the oral discourse by pupils.

3. Leads a discussion on whichever topics chosen for or by the pupils.

4. Guides the pupils to make their speeches in turns.

5. Correct pupil’s noticeable errors.

Pupil’s Activities – Discuss how they spent their holidays – length of the holidays, mode of transportation, memorable events, sights seen, new friends made, conclusion.

 

CONCLUSION

  • To conclude the lesson for the week, the teacher revises the entire lesson and links it to the following week’s lesson.
