By the end of the lesson, the pupils should have attained the following objectives –
1. understand what greeting means.
2. greet at the proper time.
3. practice the habits of greeting their parents and elders at home.
ENTRY BEHAVIOUR
The pupils know how to greet in the morning, afternoon and night.
INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS
The teacher will teach the lesson with flashcard.
METHOD OF TEACHING
Choose a suitable and appropriate methods for the lessons.
Note – Irrespective of choosing methods of teaching, always introduce an activities that will arouse pupil’s interest or lead them to the lessons.

CONTENT OF THE LESSON
WHAT IS GREETING?
Greeting is the way of showing respect to people, parents, teacher and elders.
TIME TO GREET AND HOW TO GREET
In the morning we greet “Good Morning”.
In the afternoon we greet “Good Afternoon”.
In the evening we greet “Good evening”.
When we are going to bed at night we greet “Good night”.
When we are going out we greet “Goodbye”.
We can also say, “Hello or Hi there”. Hello dad/mom/uncle, hi friend, etc.
PRESENTATION
To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:
1. To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson based on what he/she taught or what the pupils have learned.
2. Teacher display a chart showing children greeting their parents.
3. Teacher lets the pupils identity and describe greetings as shown on the the chart and guides the pupils how to greet in the morning, afternoon and in the night.
Pupil’s Activities – The pupils demonstrate how to greet in the morning, afternoon and in the evening.
4. Teacher summarizes the lesson by asking the children few questions and given them work to do at home.
Pupil’s Activities – The pupils participate actively in the summary of the lesson and do their homework.
CONCLUSION
To conclude the lesson for the week, the teacher revises the entire lesson and links it to the following week’s lesson.
