CONTENT OF THE LESSON
INTRODUCTION
Every morning in school, pupils sing the Nigerian National Anthem and recite the National Pledge. These are examples of patriotic songs and expressions that remind us to love, respect, and serve our country.
In this lesson, pupils will learn the meaning of patriotic songs, identify Nigerian patriotic songs, discuss the values of patriotism, and learn about Nigerian singers who have promoted patriotism through music.
LESSON 1 – MEANING OF PATRIOTIC SONGS
Patriotic songs are songs that express love, loyalty, unity, and pride for one’s country. They encourage citizens to work together for peace and national development.

SUMMARY
