PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES
By the end of the lesson, the pupils should have attained the following objectives (cognitive, affective and psychomotor) and should be able to –
- identify a pressing iron.
- state what it is used for.
ENTRY BEHAVIOUR
Iron is used for ironing clothes.
INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS
The teacher will teach the lesson with the aid of chart showing a pressing iron.
METHOD OF TEACHING – Choose a suitable and appropriate methods for the lessons.
Note – Irrespective of choosing methods of teaching, always introduce an activities that will arouse pupil’s interest or lead them to the lessons.

CONTENT OF THE LESSON
ACTIVITIES 1 – IDENTIFY PRESSING IRON AMONG THE FOLLOWING SIMPLE MACHINES
ACTIVITIES 2 – STATE USE OF PRESSING IRON
It is used to make cloth smooth.
ACTIVITIES 3 – IF AVAILABLE, LEAD THE PUPILS TO USE PRESSING IRON
PRESENTATION
- To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:
- To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson. Based on this, he/she asks the pupils some questions;
- Guides pupils to identify pressing iron.
- Pupil’s Activities – Identify a pressing iron.
- Leads them to know what it is used for.
- Pupil’s Activities – Say what it is used for.
CONCLUSION
- To conclude the lesson for the week, the teacher revises the entire lesson and links it to the following week’s lesson.
