PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES
By the end of the lesson, most should have attained the following objectives (cognitive, affective and psychomotor) and should be able to –
state the useful but harmful insects.
ENTRY BEHAVIOUR
The pupils can identify harmful farms insects.
INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS
The teacher will teach the lesson with the aid of:

2. Chart or sample of useful insects
3. Insect nets

Choose a suitable and appropriate methods for the lessons.
Note – Irrespective of choosing methods of teaching, always introduce an activities that will arouse pupil’s interest or lead them to the lessons.

WRITING INSTRUCTION
Copy as I write or draw as I write. This instruction should be given when you need the pupils to write or draw.
CONTENT OF THE LESSON
LESSON 1 – INTRODUCTORY ACTIVITIES
Teacher’s Activities – Ask pupils if they have beaten by any Insects. If yes, let them describe how they feel by the bit.
Pupil’s Activities – Very painful, etc.
Teacher’s Activities – Listen to the pupil’s discussion.
Teacher’s remarks – Listen to the pupils and give them a great cheer for expressing their feelings. Discuss with the pupils, some useful but harmful insects.
USEFUL BUT HARMFUL INSECTS
Useful insects but harmful are insects are useful and dangerous to plants, animals and people.
These insects kill and eat the other insects including harmful insects.
Some of the USEFUL insects are very harmful and dangerous, for example – honey bees.
They are dangerous to people, plants and animals. This is because, they can kill people, animals and eat up the farm crops.

7. Scorpion
8. Soldier ant, etc.
LESSON 2 – REVISION AND WEEKLY ASSESSMENT
As stated in performance objectives or lesson evaluation.
PRESENTATION
To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:
1. To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson. Based on this, he/she asks the pupils some questions;
2. Displays and identify preserved or use samples or listed insects.
Pupil’s Activities – Observe closely and identify useful insects.
3. Asks pupils to separate the harmful ones among other insects.
Pupil’s Activities – Identify harmful insects and describe the pain caused by these insects.
4. Summarizes the lesson on the board.
Pupil’s Activities – Copy as the teacher writes.
5. Assignment – Find out harmful insects at home.
CONCLUSION
To conclude the lesson for the week, the teacher revises the entire lesson and links it to the following week’s lesson.
