LEARNING OBJECTIVES

By the end of the lesson, most of the pupils should have attained the following objectives –

1. identify new words from two to three letter words.

2. spell the selected new words correctly.

3. pronounce the words correctly.

4. explain the meaning of words.

5. use the new words in their own speech.

6. construct simple sentences with the new words.

 

 

ENTRY BEHAVIOR

The pupils can spell two to three letter words corr.

 

 

INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS

The teacher will teach the lesson with the aid of course book, chart containing new words and dictionary.

 

 

METHOD OF TEACHING

Choose a suitable and appropriate methods for the lessons.

PRESENTATION

To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:

1. To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson. Based on this, he/she asks the pupils some questions;

2. Displays chart showing selected new words.

3. Lets the pupils spell each word on the chart correctly.

Pupil’s Activities – Spell each of the word on the chart correctly.

4. Asks to separate two letter words from three letter words.

Pupil’s Activities – Identify two and three letter words.

5. Explains each of the words on the chart.

6. Writes the words and their meanings on the board.

Pupil’s Activities – Write and explain the meaning of the new words.

7. Makes simple sentences with the new words.

8. Guides the pupils to make simple sentences with the new words.

9. Summarizes the lesson.
