TOPIC – Expressing Congratulations
PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES
By the end of the lesson, the pupils should have attained the following objectives (cognitive, affective and psychomotor) and should be able to:
1. Express congratulatory message informal or casual situations.
2. Give correct answers to comprehension passages.

The teacher will teach the lesson with the aid of:

METHOD OF TEACHING – Choose a suitable and appropriate methods for the lessons.
Note – Irrespective of choosing methods of teaching, always introduce an activities that will arouse pupil’s interest or lead them to the lessons.

CONTENT OF THE LESSON
Expressing Congratulations in a Variety of Informal or Casual Contexts to Classmates Friends Acquaintance, Relations, etc.
For example – congratulating friend who has just won a medal in sports.

PRESENTATION
To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:
1. To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson. Based on this, he/she asks the pupils some questions;
2. Reads the passage containing correct expressions of congratulations.
Pupil’s Activities – Discuss the topic in the passage.
3. Plays the cassette based on the use of expression.
4. Listen to the cassette based on the use of expression of congratulations.
5. Lets the pupils read the passage and do comprehension exercises on it.
Pupil’s Activities – Read the passage and answer the questions on the comprehension passage.
CONCLUSION
To conclude the lesson for the week, the teacher revises the entire lesson and links it to the following week’s lesson.
