PREVIOUS LESSON – GUIDELINES FOR THE USES OF CLEANING AGENTS
TOPIC – PRACTICAL WORK ON THE USES OF HOME MADE OFFICE AND CLEANING AGENTS
PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES
By the end of the lesson, the pupils should have attained the following objectives (cognitive, affective and psychomotor) and should be able to use the home made polish and cleaning agents properly.
INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS
The teacher will teach the lesson with the aid of:
- Kerosene/turpentine, candle wax, bar soap and palm oil.
- Pawpaw, pineapple leaves, fine sand, detergent, grater, sauce pan, grind egg shell, wood ash, lime, and salt.
- Wooden furniture, table, chairs, cupboards, shelves, cloth poles.
- Galvanised iron, saucepan, pots, buckets, cutlery, water.
METHOD OF TEACHING – Choose a suitable and appropriate methods for the lessons.
Note – Irrespective of choosing methods of teaching, always introduce an activities that will arouse pupil’s interest or lead them to the lessons.

CONTENT OF THE LESSON
INTRODUCTION
Home made polish are polish make with local materials and used for cleaning furniture at home. Home made cleaning agents are materials used for cleaning the household articles and equipments.
PRACTICAL WORK ON USES OF HOME MADE POLISH AND CLEANING AGENTS
FURNITURE IN THE CLASS
Materials needed for cleaning furniture in the class are –
- Brush
- Home made furniture polish
- Clean Duster
WEEK 6
CARE OF BUCKETS
Materials needed for cleaning buckets are –
- Home made cleaning agents
- Bucket
- Water
- Scrubbing brush or hard sponges
Procedures –
- Mixed the home made cleaning agent with water
- Deep the scrubbing brush or hard sponge inside the water.
- Remove the brush or sponge
- Start washing
- After washing, raise with clean water.
- Dry the bucket inside.
- Store properly
PRESENTATION
- To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:
- To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson. Based on this, he/she asks the pupils some questions;
- Practical demonstration on how to make and use home made polish and cleaning agents.
- Pupil’s Activities – Use home made polish and cleaning agents properly.
CONCLUSION
- To conclude the lesson for the week, the teacher revises the entire lesson and links it to the following week’s lesson.
