 PREVIOUS LESSON – DRAWING WITH COMPUTER – IDENTIFICATION of DRAWING PACKAGES (PRIMARY 6)

TOPIC – MICROSOFT PAINT ENVIRONMENT 

 

PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES

By the end of the lesson, the pupils should have attained the following objectives (cognitive, affective and psychomotor) and should be able to –

1. identify icons on the tool box and its uses.

2. identify the colors on color palette

 

 

ENTRY BEHAVIOUR

 

INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS

The teacher will teach the lesson with the aid of a functional computer system with Paint Artist software (or Corel Draw) installed.

 

METHOD OF TEACHING – Choose a suitable and appropriate methods for the lessons.

Note – Irrespective of choosing methods of teaching, always introduce an activities that will arouse pupil’s interest or lead them to the lessons.

MICROSOFT PAINT ENVIRONMENT

 

 

FUNCTIONS OF EACH MICROSOFT PAINT ENVIRONMENT

1. Free Form select

It used to select a specific part (shape) of painting. The part can be cut, copy, or paste.

 

2. Select

It is used to select a specific part (rectangular space). The part can be cut, copy, or paste.

 

3. Eraser

It is used to erase parts of a painting.

 

4. Fill

It is used to fills objects with whatever colour choose.

 

5. Pick colour

It is used to select exact colour for the painting.

 

6. Magnifier

It is used to magnify to accurately draw, colour or fill drawings.

 

7. Pencil

It is used to write and draw in a free form way.

 

8. Brush

It is used to do the same as a pencil, but it has different selections of brushes to choose from and it is darker than a pencil.

 

 

9. Airbrush

It is used to “spray” chosen colour on the paint document.

 

10. Text

It is used to write text from a chosen font, style and size

 

11. Line

It is used to draw a straight line – horizontal, vertical or diagonal.

 

12. Curve

It is used to draw smooth curves.

 

13. Rectangle

It is used to draw rectangles of all shapes and sizes.

 

14. Polygon

It is used to draw polygon.

 

15. Ellipse

It is used to draw ellipses and circles of all shapes and sizes.

 

16. Rounded rectangle

It is used to do the same thing as rectangles except that these shapes have rounded edges.

 

 

PRESENTATION

  • To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:

1. To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson. Based on this, he/she asks the pupils some questions;

2. Guides class to identify icons on the tool box and its uses.
