PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES
By the end of the lesson, the pupils should have attained the following objectives (cognitive, affective and psychomotor) and should be able to –
1. explain the meaning of sin and forgiveness.
2. give an example to show that Jesus has the power to forgive sins.

CONTENT OF THE LESSON
INTRODUCTION
MEANING OF SIN AND FORGIVENESS
Sin is an offence against God.
Forgiveness means pardon.
FORGIVENESS OF SIN
Forgiveness of sin is the pardon you received from God for the sin against Him.
EXAMPLES OF THOSE WHO RECEIVED FORGIVENESS OF SIN
1. The prodigal son, Luke 15 : 11 – 24
He repented and received forgiveness.
2. The paralysed man, Mark 2 : 1 – 12
Paralysed man received forgiveness of his sin and got healed
Teacher’s remark – Summary the story of the prodigal son and the paralytic man.
JESUS HAS THE POWER TO FORGIVE SINS
Reading – mark 2 : 1 – 12
10 But that you may know that the Son of Man has power on earth to forgive sins”—He said to the paralytic,
11 “I say to you, arise, take up your bed, and go to your house.”
12 Immediately he arose, took up the bed, and went out in the presence of them all, so that all were amazed and glorified God, saying, “We never saw anything like this!”
PRESENTATION
To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:
1. To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson. Based on this, he/she asks the pupils some questions;
2. Asks pupils to explain what they understand about sin and forgiveness.
Pupil’s Activities – Discuss the meaning of sin and forgiveness.
3. Explains the meaning of forgiveness of sin.
Pupil’s Activities – Listen to the teacher’s explanation.
4. Summaries the story of the prodigal son and the paralyzed man.
Pupil’s Activities – Share the story with one another.
4. Explains the Power of Jesus to forgive sin.
Pupil’s Activities – Listen to the teacher’s explanation.
CONCLUSION
- To conclude the lesson for the week, the teacher revises the entire lesson and links it to the following week’s lesson.
