TOPIC – OPEN SENTENCES 

 

PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES 

By the end of the lesson, the pupils should have attained the following objectives (cognitive, affective and psychomotor) and should be able to –

1. find missing numbers in an open sentence.

2. Solve simple related quantitative aptitude problems.

The teacher will teach the lesson with the aid of:

4. Pupils themselves.

CONTENT OF THE LESSON  

LESSON ONE – INTRODUCTION TO OPEN SENTENCES 

Teacher’s/Pupil’s Activities 1 – Introductory Questions 

Question 1 – There are 15 pencils in a box. More pencils are added to the box. Altogether there are 21 pencils. How many pencils added to the box?

As stated in Quantitative Reasoning and Textbooks 

 

PRESENTATION

To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:

1. To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson. Based on this, he/she asks the pupils some questions;

2. Guides pupils to find missing numbers.

Pupil’s Activities – Solve series of problems involving open sentences.

3. Guides pupils to solve simple related quantitative aptitude problems.

Pupil’s Activities –  Solve simple related quantitative aptitude problems.

 

CONCLUSION

To conclude the lesson for the week, the teacher revises the entire lesson and links it to the following week’s lesson.

 

LESSON EVALUATION 

Pupils to:

1. solve given problems on open sentences.
