By the end of the lesson, the pupils should have attained the following objectives (cognitive, affective and psychomotor) and should be able to –

1. explain what new life means.

2. discuss the evidence of a new life in a person.

Life of a born again Christian

The teacher will teach the lesson with the aid of:

1. Bible

2. Chart

3. Chalkboard

4. Costumes

 

 

METHOD OF TEACHING – Choose a suitable and appropriate methods for the lessons.

Note – Irrespective of choosing methods of teaching, always introduce an activities that will arouse pupil’s interest or lead them to the lessons.

CONTENT OF THE LESSON  

LESSON ONE – INTRODUCTION 

2 Corinthians 5

17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here! 

A new life begins when people are born again by the Spirit of Christ. – 1 Peter 1 : 3.

 

MEANING OF NEW LIFE 

A new life means a total change of life from the wrong and evil things to the right and good things.

James 4

17 Therefore, to him who knows to do good and does not do it, to him it is sin.

 

 

EVIDENCE OF A NEW LIFE

Reading Acts 16 : 31 – 34

 

As you read in Acts 16 : 31 – 34, evident of a new life is shown in the character, attitude and behaviour.

The new life will begin to experience

1. Joy

2. Kindness

3. Peace, and

4. Other virtues.

 

LESSON 2 – REVISION AND WEEK 6 LESSON ASSESSMENT 

As stated in performance objectives or lesson evaluation. 

 

 

PRESENTATION

To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:

1. To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson. Based on this, he/she asks the pupils some questions;

2. Explains what new life means.

Pupil’s Activities – Explain what you understand by a new life.

3. Lists some of the evidences of a new life.

Pupil’s Activities – Give some of the evidences of a new life.

4. Leads the pupils to read the Bible passages.

Pupil’s Activities – Reading Bible passages.

 

CONCLUSION

  • To conclude the lesson for the week, the teacher revises the entire lesson and links it to the following week’s lesson.

Pupils to:

1. explain what new life means.
