PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES 

By the end of the lesson, the pupils should have attained the following objectives (cognitive, affective and psychomotor) and should be able to –

1. recognize different denominations of Nigerian coins.

2. add or subtract coins to obtain sums not exceeding 25k.

3. calculate change obtainable from 10k or less.

4. trace coins using brown and white papers.

1. Provides a small shopping corner in the classroom.

2. Leads the pupils to do the shopping in groups. Each group will have trader and customer. Shopping involves addition and subtraction.

3. Ensures that pupils add and subtract correctly.

 

Teacher’s/Pupil’s Activities – Buying, Selling and Receiving Change

1. How much do you pay when you buy pure water and biscuits?

2. How much will you collect as change from ₦40 if you buy bobo and biscuit?

3. How much will you collect as change from ₦50 if you buy 2 pencil and a ruler?

LESSON THREE – ADDITION AND SUBSTRACTION OF NOTES
