PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES 

By the end of the lesson, the pupils should have attained the following objectives (cognitive, affective and psychomotor) and should be able to –

1. pronounce each word of the song correctly as they repeat after the teacher.

2. Sing the tonic solfas.

3. Sing the text of the song.

INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS

The teacher will teach the lesson with the aid of:

1. CD player

2. Phones for playing songs, etc.

 

 

METHOD OF TEACHING – Choose a suitable and appropriate methods for the lessons.

LESSON ONE – INTRODUCTORY ACTIVITIES 

Teacher’s/Pupil’s Activities – Plays children’s songs that lead pupils to sing and get excited. You might also lead the pupils to sing –

Twinkle, twinkle, little star

How I wonder what you are

Up above the world so high

Like a diamond in the sky

Twinkle, twinkle little star

How I wonder what you are

Be sure that, the pupils pronounce each word of the song correctly.

 

 

LESSON TWO – SINGING TONIC SOLFAS OF TWINKLE, TWINKLE, LITTLE STAR 

Teacher’s/Pupil’s Activities – Leads the pupils to sing tonic solfas of Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star.

SING THE TEXT OF THE SONG 

Teacher’s/Pupil’s Activities – as in introductory activities.

 

PRESENTATION

To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:

1. To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson. Based on this, he/she asks the pupils some questions;

2. Plays children’s songs that lead pupils to sing and get excited.

Pupil’s Activities – Singing Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star.

3. Leads pupils to sing tonic solfas of Singing Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star.

Pupil’s Activities – Repeat after the teacher.

 

 

CONCLUSION

  • To conclude the lesson for the week, the teacher revises the entire lesson and links it to the following week’s lesson.
