The teacher will teach the lesson with the aid of:

1. Abacus

2. If not available, improvise with copper and beads.

3. Video clips

CONTENT OF THE LESSON  

LESSON 1 – INTRODUCTORY ACTIVITIES 

Teacher’s Activities – Introduce Abacus device to the children and let them examine and play with it for about 5 minutes while observing, engage the children on how to count using Abacus. For example, count 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5.

Pupil’s Expected Response – Play and count with Abacus.

 

 

LESSON 2 – PLAY AND COUNT WITH ABACUS 

Repeat the activities in Lesson 1.

PRESENTATION

To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:

1. To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson. Based on this, he/she asks the pupils some questions;

2. Exposes christian to counting of numbers with the use of Abacus.
