The teacher will the lesson with the aid of video clip or chart showing children running.

CONTENT OF THE LESSON

25 METRES RACE 

25 metres race is the shortest race run by the children. This race builds stronger muscles and bones.

The important skills to learn in 25 metres race are –

1. The start

2. The Set

3. The race

4. The finish

 

GUIDELINES FOR 25 METRES RACE 

The children,

1. stand at the start line.

2. wait for the whistle or Go.

3. run straight to the finish line.

4. stop after the finish line.

Note – In a competition race, the first, second and third are consider the winners.

 

LESSON PRESENTATION

To deliver this lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:

1. Teacher plays a video clip or displays chart showing different children racing.

Children’s Activities – The children identify and describe the activities in the video or the chart.

2. Teacher listens to the children and asks them if they are ready to run.

Children’s Activities – The children participate actively in the outdoor games.

4. Teacher tells the children what they are about to do and how is done.

Children’s Activities – The children listen to their teacher, express their feelings and appreciate the importance of 25 metres race.

5. Teacher seeks the support from his/her colleagues that less busy for good coordination and celebrate the children participation.

6. Teacher summarizes the lesson by asking the children questions based on the lesson taught and gives the children work to do at home.

Children’s Activities – The children participate actively in the summary of the lesson by responding to the questions and do their homework at home.

Teacher asks the children to demonstrate 25 metres race.
