ENTRY BEHAVIOUR
Pupils have previously learned about adjectives as describing words that tell us more about nouns such as people, places, and things. They can also identify simple action words (verbs) in sentences.
This lesson builds on that knowledge by introducing adverbs, which describe verbs, and helping pupils to distinguish between adjectives and adverbs through simple puzzles and exercises.

INTRODUCTION
An adjective is a word that describes a noun (a person, place, or thing).
Example: big, small, beautiful, tall
An adverb is a word that describes a verb, telling how, when, or where something happens.
Example: quickly, slowly, happily, early
