CONTENT OF THE LESSON

LESSON 1 – INTRODUCTION 

Adobe photoshop is a program used to create beautiful images, graphics, paintings, and 3D artwork.

 

PHOTOSHOP TOOLBAR/TOOLS ON THE TOOLBAR

The Photoshop Toolbar is the vertical panel on the left side of the Photoshop window. It contains tools used for drawing, editing, painting, selecting, and editing pictures.

 

THE MAIN TOOLS IN THE ADOBE PHOTOSHOP TOOLBAR AND THEIR SHORTCUTS 

1. Move Tool (V) – It is used to move pictures, shapes, or objects. Shortcut key: V

2. Marquee Tools (M) – It is used to select shapes like rectangle or circle. Shortcut key: M

3. Lasso Tools (L) – It is sed to select freehand shapes. Shortcut key: L

4. Quick Selection / Magic Wand Tool (W) – It is used to select areas of similar color. Shortcut key: W

5. Crop Tool (C) – It is It is used to cut or remove unwanted parts of an image. Shortcut key: C

6. Eyedropper Tool (I) – It is used to pick colors from an image. Shortcut key: I

7. Brush Tool (B) – It is used for painting and coloring. Shortcut key: B

8. Eraser Tool (E) – It is used to remove parts of an image. Shortcut key: E

9. Gradient / Paint Bucket Tool (G) – It is used to fill areas with color or gradients. Shortcut key: G

10. Text Tool (T) – It is used to type words on an image. Shortcut key: T

11. Shape Tools (U) – It is used to draw shapes like rectangle, circle, and line. Shortcut key: U

12. Zoom Tool (Z) – It is used to zoom in or out of an image. Shortcut key: Z

13. Hand Tool (H) – It is used to move around the image when zoomed. Shortcut key: H

 

IMPORTANCE OF PHOTOSHOP TOOLBAR 

1. It helps in drawing and editing pictures.

2. It makes work faster and easier.

3. It is used by graphic designers and photographers.

 

LESSON 2 – HAND ON ACTIVITIES ON TOOLS ON THE TOOLBAR

Teacher lets the pupils familiarize themselves around the Photoshop toolbar and their uses. 

LESSON 3 – REVISION AND WEEKLY ASSESSMENT – As stated in the performance objectives/lesson evaluation. 

 

PRESENTATION

To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps – he/she,

1. Teacher revises the previous lesson based on the pupil’s related knowledge or experience.

Pupil’s Activities – Participate actively in lesson review.

2. Teacher organizes the pupils into groups depending on the size of the class.

3. Teachers asks pupils to bring out their drawing materials to draw and colour objects in their classroom.

Pupil’s Activities – The pupils draw and color objects in their classroom.

4. Teacher displays chart showing objects in the classroom drawn with Adobe Photoshop.

5. Teacher asks the pupils to state the different between the drawings.

Pupil’s Activities – The pupils state the different and appropriate their differences.

6. Teacher uses the drawings and the pupils relevant responses to introduce the lesson and leads a class discussion on the meaning of Adobe Photoshop and its toolbar.

Pupil’s Activities – The pupils pay attention to the lesson introduction, understand and explain the meaning of Adobe Photoshop and the toolbar.

7. Teacher uses charts showing the main Adobe Photoshop toolbar or uses a functional computer to guide the pupils to identify each tool and its function.

8. Teacher summarizes the lesson on the board with appropriate evaluation.
