LEARNING OBJECTIVES 

By the end of the lesson, most pupils should have attained the following objectives –

1. mention dangerous places in the neighbourhood.

2. state different kinds of people to avoid in the neighbourhood.

 

 

ENTRY BEHAVIOUR

The pupils can identify and state dangerous places and peoples to avoid in their neighbourhood.

 

 

INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS

The teacher will teach the lesson with the aid of chart showing some of the common places and peoples to avoid.

 

 

METHOD OF TEACHING

Choose a suitable and appropriate methods for the lessons.

Note – Irrespective of choosing methods of teaching, always introduce an activities that will arouse pupil’s interest or lead them to the lessons.

CONTENT OF THE LESSON  

LESSON 1 – INTRODUCTION 

Neighbourhood is also known a community is a place or area where people lives as a community.

In our community, there are different kinds people living in different places.

Some places in our community are dangerous because people with criminal behaviours live in that places.

Dangerous places and people need to be avoided.

 

 

AVOIDING DANGEROUS PLACES

A dangerous place is a place that is not safe to be at a particular time.

Sometimes, some of these places are safe but not always while other are not safety at all time.

Teacher guides pupils to identify and state some of the dangerous places to avoid in their community.

For examples – darkness and quite places, overcrowded, etc.

Let them state reasons for avoiding those places mentioned…. 

 

 

DANGEROUS PEOPLE IN OUR NEIGHBOURHOOD

Dangerous people are people that are threat to other people life and prosperity.

They cause serious harm and pain to those within and around them.

These kinds of people are to be avoided.

 

ASSIGNMENT

Find out 5 people to be avoided in your community.

 

 

LESSON 2 – AVOIDING DANGEROUS PEOPLES 

The following people are dangerous and must be avoided at all cost –

1. Armed robbers (thieves)

2. Ritualists

3. Kidnappers

4. Rapists

5. Drunker

6. Womanizers

7. Jealous people

8. Pessimists

9. Haters

10. Envious people

 

ARMED ROBBERS (THIEVES) 

Armed robbers are people who used weapons to commit robbery.

 

RITUALISTS

Ritualists are people who perform ritual rites with animals, crops and other objects or materials.

But some ritualists are dangerous because they performed their ritual rites using human beings.

 

 

KIDNAPPERS 

Kidnappers are people who take someone away by force to get money for their release.

 

RAPISTS 

Rapists are people who force other to have sex with them.

 

DRUNKER 

A drunker is a person who loses control under the effects of alcohol.

 

WOMANIZERS 

Womanizers are men who always have sexual relationships with any women.

 

JEALOUS PEOPLE 

Jealous people are people who always afraid of losing to other people.

 

PESSIMISTS

Pessimists are people who negative about everything and anything around them.

 

 

HATERS 

Haters are people who never see the good in other people or things.

 

ENVIOUS PEOPLE 

Envious people are people who desire what other peoples have.

 

 

LESSON 3 – REVISION AND WEEKLY ASSESSMENT (TEST)

 

 

PRESENTATION

To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps – he/she,

1. Revises the previous lesson based on the pupil’s related knowledge or experience.

Pupil’s Activities – Participate actively in lesson review.

2. Uses some of the dangerous places with the school’s community to introduce the lesson.

Pupil’s Activities – Identify some of the dangerous places with their community.

3. Asks pupils, why the places mentioned are dangerous?

Pupil’s Activities – State why those places are dangerous.

4. Uses pupil’s responses to the lesson – dangerous people.

5. Leads a discussion on the dangerous places and people to be avoided and the reasons why.

Pupil’s Activities – Participate actively in lesson lesson discussion.

6. Summarizes the lesson on the board.

Pupil’s Activities – Participate actively in lesson summary and write as instructed.

 

 

CONCLUSION

To conclude the lesson for the week, the teacher revises the entire lesson and links it to the following week’s lesson.
