CONTENT OF THE LESSON

LESSON 1 – INTRODUCTION 

Examination is a formal test of understanding, knowledge and ability in a particular subject in the school to obtain a qualification.

The main purpose of examination is to evaluate the understanding of the knowledge of pupils in school or people at job interview.

An examination is normally takes place at the end a term or semester. Sometimes, at the end of session.

It is designed for promotion purposes. The pupils, students and officers take an examination or formal test to move from one level to another. They will do anything honestly or most especially dishonesty to pass or get promoted to the next class or level.

All dishonest activities are known as examination malpractices.

 

 

MEANING OF EXAMINATION MALPRACTICES 

Examination malpractices are deliberate activities that are against examination rules and regulations of official examination.

It is also known as cheating or exam malpractices. Exam malpractices is one of the criminal behaviour in the society.

 

 

LESSON 2 – CAUSES OF EXAMINATION MALPRACTICES 

1. Fear of failure

2. Laziness of students or student’s attitudes

3. Lack of self-confidence

4. Poor system of education

5. Lack of parental guidance

LESSON 3 – REVISION AND WEEKLY ASSESSMENT (TEST) 

 

 

PRESENTATION

To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:

1. To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson. Based on this, he/she asks the pupils some questions;

2. Teacher organize the pupils in groups depending on the size of the class.

3. Teacher displays chart showing pupils at the examination or plays a short video that reveals exam malpractices.

4. Teacher uses the chart or short videos to ask the pupils as groups to state the Do’s and Don’ts of examination.

Pupil’s Activities – The pupils state the rules and regulations of examination.

5. Teacher uses the pupil’s relevant responses to introduce the lesson and leads a class discussion on meaning of examination and examination malpractices.

Pupil’s Activities – The pupils differentiate between examination and malpractices.

6. Teacher states and explains the causes of exam malpractices.

Pupil’s Activities – The pupils identify and analyze the consequences of exam malpractices on the Society.

7. Teacher summarizes the lesson on the board using appropriate lesson evaluation.

Pupil’s Activities – The pupils participate actively in summary summary by responding correctly to most of the questions and write as instructed.

 

 

CONCLUSION

  • To conclude the lesson for the week, the teacher revises the entire lesson and links it to the following week’s lesson.
