PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES 

By the end of the lesson, most should have attained the following objectives (cognitive, affective and psychomotor) and should be able to –

1. explain useful farm insects.

2. mention 2 farm insects.

 

ENTRY BEHAVIOUR

The pupils can identify honey by tasting.

Chart or sample of useful insects.

Teacher’s Activities – Display sample or charts of common useful farm insects for pupils to identify.

Pupil’s Activities – Bee, cricket, etc.

Teacher’s remarks – These are useful farm insect. They are useful for man and crops.

 

MEANING OF USEFUL FARM INSECTS

 

 

Useful Farm Insects are insects are useful to crops and people.

 

COMMON USEFUL FARM INSECTS

Other useful farm Insects are –

1. Butterflies

2. Bees

3. Termites

4. Cricket

5. Praying mantis, etc.

 

Discuss the uses of each farm insect listed above. 

 

LESSON 2 – REVISION AND WEEKLY ASSESSMENT 

As stated in performance objectives or lesson evaluation. 

 

PRESENTATION

To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:

1. To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson. Based on this, he/she asks the pupils some questions;

2. Displays and identify preserved or use samples or listed insects.

 

 

Pupil’s Activities – Observe closely and identify useful insects.

3. Summarizes the lesson on the board.

Pupil’s Activities – Copy as the teacher writes.

 

CONCLUSION

To conclude the lesson for the week, the teacher revises the entire lesson and links it to the following week’s lesson.

Find out from parents, insect that produced honey.
