By the end of the lesson, most of pupils should have attained the following objectives –

1. Count the number of objects.

2. Identify number 1 – 5.

3. Trace number 1 – 5.

4. Write 1 – 5.

ENTRY BEHAVIOUR

The children can sing 1 – 5 songs.

The teacher will teach the lesson with the aid of:

PRESENTATION

To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:

1. To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson. Based on this, he/she asks the pupils some questions;

2. Displays different toys.

3. Guides the children to identify and count objects in groups.

Pupil’s Activities – Count the number of objects in group.

4. Provides number toys of 1 – 5.

5. Says each number and let the children say each after you.

Pupil’s Activities – Identify and repeat the number 1 – 5 after the teacher.

6. Points to one number at a time and let the children say the number.

Pupil’s Activities – Say the number pointed by the teacher.

7. Guides the children to trace number 1 – 5 correctly.

Pupil’s Activities – Trace number 1 – 5.

8. Guide the children to write number 1 – 5 correctly.

Pupil’s Activities – Write number 1 – 5.

CONCLUSION

To conclude the lesson for the week, the teacher revises the entire lesson and links it to the following week’s lesson.
