CONTENT OF THE LESSON
INTRODUCTORY ACTIVITIES
Teacher’s/Pupil’s Activities – Asks pupils to state the uses of plants as discussed in the previous lesson – Uses of Plants (Primary 1).
Listen to them and tell them that some plants are dangerous and harmful to man.
DANGEROUS HARMFUL PLANTS
1. Indian hemp
2. Tobacco
3. Indian hemp
4. Spear grass
DANGERS OF SOME PLANTS TO PEOPLE’S HEALTH
Discuss the effects of dangerous and harmful plants –
1. Mental disorder
2. High blood pressure
3. Violence in the family
4. Poor performance in school
5. Dropout
6. Poor work, etc.
PRESENTATION
To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:
1. To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson. Based on this, he/she asks the pupils some questions;
2. Tells pupils the danger of some plants to their health.
Pupil’s Activities – Mention some plants that are dangerous to health e.g. Indian hemp, tobacco, poisonous plants.
CONCLUSION
- To conclude the lesson for the week, the teacher revises the entire lesson and links it to the following week’s lesson.
