ENTRY BEHAVIOUR

Pupils have previously learned about adjectives as words that describe nouns such as people, places, and things. They can also identify simple describing words in sentences.

This lesson builds on that knowledge by helping pupils to understand and use descriptive adjectives to give more detailed information about nouns in sentences.

INTRODUCTION

Descriptive adjectives are words that describe nouns by telling us more about their appearance, size, colour, shape, or quality.

Examples of Descriptive Adjectives

Making Sentences with Descriptive Adjectives

  • The beautiful girl is dancing.
  • A tall boy is running.
